Coni's research study surveyed over 100 C-level leaders. She found that by generalizing “introvert” and “extrovert” the wrong signals are being sent to aspiring leaders, recruiters, and organizational development professionals. To truly predict which leaders are likely to be top performers, recruitment, selection, and development practices need to look beyond the personality trait labels of ‘introvert’ and ‘extrovert’ to understand the more relevant and impactful sub-aspects of sociability and assertiveness.
