Shellac rules
I love love love Shellac – the wonderpolish that gives me flawless, gorgeous nails for up to two weeks! If you like natural nails but want them to stay shiny and nice, then Shellac is perfect. I don’t love gels, OPI’s version, or other wannabes – have tried them all and Shellac is by far the best. Cost a bit more for the mani, but it’s a money-saver if you get regular manicures!

Quick tips:

- Darker colours don’t chip as quickly
- Lighter colours will be less visible in growout
- Make your own combos – they’re improving colour choices, but you can make fun mixes. I love beau + coco for the perfect nude shade.
- Use Solar Oil every night on your cuticles to prevent getting white marks on your nails – plus makes a healthy cuticle!
- Soaking off takes a long time and I’m always on the go – so I cheat and peel mine off before I go to the salon. This won’t hurt your nails but will leave them looking dry. ‘Soak’ them with a load of Solar Oil before you go to the salon and they’ll be perfectly healthy.
- I get Shellac pedicures, too. Remember the rules of matching finger and toe colours

Dark/Light = Dark toe + light finger

Dark/Dark = Both dark, make sure they are the same shade exactly

Funky toes = Funky + funky is fine. No blue or green toes!!! Looks like an autopsy! Otherwise, match your fingers and toes to each other in the same colour

Red = Match toe and finger; or can do a red toe and nude nail

Light/Light = Ugh! Looks like pre-autopsy. Not attractive. Toes should have colour.
