It’s gone beyond collection to addiction. I love massive Alexander McQueen scarves for all occasions. The latest addition, courtesy of my lovely husband, is a huge black/cream/tan/burnt umber silk chiffon confection with puka shells spelling out ‘God Save McQueen’. My all-time favourite is a huge version of black/white Cecil Beaton vintage Queen Elizabeth photo – produced prior to Jubilee mania. They’re perfect to loop twice and tie around the handle of my Smythson or Hermes handbag handles – and at the ready if I’m chilly on the plane, sitting in drafty aircon at the office, or caught in another summer shower in London or Amsterdam!
